06.04. DOUBLE FEATURE VOL 1: THE ATOMIC BITCHWAX / NAAM / QUEST FOR FIRE / MIRROR QUEEN

The first night of this Double Feature will be hosted by the long running NYC-based Label Tee Pee Records.  Tee Pee Records is home to bands like
Witch, The Brian Jonestown Massacre and Sleep.Their current roster features some of the most exciting bands in the US-Psychedelic-Rock Underground.

New Jersey’s Chris Kosnik, Finn Ryan and Bob Pantella first started plotting their musical careers back in the mid ‘90s, influenced by ‘70s rock and groups ranging from Black Sabbath to Parliament and Funkadelic.
Since the
The Atomic Bitchwax first self-titled release in 1999 on Tee Pee Records, The Bitchwax have toured every year in North America and Europe, playing in over 15 countries. In that time they have released five more records, including three full lengths (TAB 2, 3 and 4) two EPs (Spit Blood and Boxriff) and a live DVD filmed in Seattle’s Sunset Tavern.
2011 brings the release of their new album The Local Fuzz, boasting one 40 minute track of 50 back to back riffs.

Beyond the conceptual physical language structure created by mankind, the definition of the name lies in internal rhythm, the internal sound that a man experiences. Those who embrace Naam have the key to the door of mysteries and miracles, as Naam exists in the Divine plane and shines through to the Physical plane, bringing healing and self-renewal.

Upon the inevitable demise of Canada’s most beloved garage rock underdogs, The Deadly Snakes (In the Red Records)Quest For Fire began to prepare for their great unveiling before Toronto’s wary rock scene.
Their Tee Pee Records debut “Lights From Paradise” is a beautiful mash of colorful, dreamy hard rock, Spacemen 3 drone and heavy psychedelic swirl.

Influenced by such 70’s legends as Hawkwind, Deep Purple, UFO, Blue Oyster Cult, Captain Beyond, the rockier sides of more recent outfits such as Motorpsycho and Swervedriver, as well as the best of the current heavy bands,
Mirror Queen aspire towards psychedelic hard rock of the highest order.
Together they transcend the sameness of much of today’s stoner scene, blasting the audience by including songs with the volume and adding hooks to the timeless riffs.

29.03. OVERMARS + BINAIRE

Overmars is a loosely knit band collective from the french alps. Their abrasive sludge-assault is rooted in the crustiness of His Hero Is Gone aswell as the  bleakness that is Khanate and is definetely located at the dark end of the ever expansive Roadtrip-universe.
Their latest full length “Born Again” is comprised of no more songs than one and clocks in under just 40 minutes.
This song / album is a deeply emotional sonic assault, no holds barred, no compromise.

A brand new split 12″ with experimental hardcore-pioneers Starkweather has recently been released through J. Bannon´s Label Deathwish Inc.

Binaire will join Overmars on this tour. Their approach to music is similair to their colleagues as they are defying categorization and know no compromise in expressing themselves sonically.
“As you can except, binaire are going by 2 ….
2 guys and 2 machines, knowing that the first 2 ones are steping foward the others, unlike
hollywood bad saga scripts .
2 men , 2 machines, in a twister of ectro punk rock !
2 men , 2 machines, extremly implicated in noise production, so disturbing for our ears !
A world crashing into beats, screamings and noisy guitare .
Melting point of hardcore, electro, punk and cold noise, this is binaire”

30.03. SONS OF OTIS + UFOMAMMUT + ZIPPO

Celebrating their 20th Anniversary this year Sons Of Otis remains to be one of the true epic stoner / doom heavyweights. They toured with Kyuss, Queens Of The Stoneage, Fu Manchu and Electric Wizard. They got the major label treatment in the mid-nineties, something the could have lived without and went under along with cult label Man´s Ruin.
2009 marked their return with the release of “Exiled” on Small Stone Records.

Ufomammut is a power trio formed in 1999 in Italy by Poia, Urlo and Vita.
Ufomammut is worldwide recognized as the creator of a unique brand of psychedelic sludge.
With long songs, droning vocals and massive effects the band combines a monumental riffing attitude with the psychedelia of the more visionary Pink Floyd.
Ufomammut’s live show is supported by the internationally acclaimed video and graphic art of Malleus, a rock artists’ collective who conjure the entirety of Ufomammut’s visual impact.

Zippo starts in Pescara (Italy) and takes its first steps in the summer of 2004. The original aim was to play a thousand-faces-stoner-rock, from massive and pachydermic sounds to moments of quietness and peace.
Over the years their  sound got heavier, darker, more psychedelic and prog-oriented; somewhat far from labels of any kind.
